Puerto Varas renovates participation

In this 24th edition of Festuris - Gramado Tourism Trade Show, the Chilean town of Puerto Varas, also renowned for its sister city relationship with Gramado, renovates its participation, asserting that the trade fair is an event of effective results in terms of tourism results. Festuris is recognized by the trade as one of the largest fairs of the sector, in South America.

Distant 960 kilometres South from Santiago, Puerto Varas is a city of temperate climate, with temperatures varying from 44 degrees F on Winter to 57 degrees F on Summer. Puerto Varas has 110 years of history and is so-called “City of Roses”. Settled by Germans since the mid-century 19, it is inhabited by around 40 thousand people and keeps the German architecture, gastronomy and culture. One of the main tourism spots is Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, famous for the 2.600 metters high Volcano Osorno, still in activity, nowadays one of the most photographed landscapes in Chile.

In 2011, during the 23rd edition of Festuris, it was celebrated the 20 years of sister cities relationship between the two cities. To emphasize the date, the City Council of Gramado denominated one of the its avenues as Puerto Varas. The Chilean twin city already has, on its turn, an avenue called Gramado.
